Learn to play what you love
Offbeat Music Lessons

Why Choose Offbeat?
Why not fill your life with music? Music is a great romance. When you learn music you learn more about the world, more about people, and more about yourself. The best part is that you will never stop learning.
I give my students the ability to take part in one of the greatest aspects of our world. We will make it joyful, collaborative, and uniquely tailored to your interests and needs.
“Musical training is a more potent instrument than any other for education, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.” – Plato
Music Training
Elements of Learning
Theory
I believe it is important to understand what we’re learning and how it works. Learn to understand the music you play and you’ll enjoy it even more than you already do.

Composition
I want you to create your own music, not just learn to play others. Composition is one of the most fulfilling things you can do for yourself and other people.

Listening
You should listen ten times as much as you play. We want you to find the music you love so we can learn based on your interests.

Fun
What’s the point if you don’t enjoy it? We want lessons to be fun and engaging. If you can’t find enjoyment in what you do it becomes a chore. Music should never be a chore.

Personalization
Each lesson is tailored to you. We focus on your interests and challenge you in unique ways specific to your strengths.

I always wanted to take drum lessons but wasn’t sure if I could find the right teacher. Now, I don’t want to take lessons from anyone else.

I’ve had a lot of instructors but you’re the best. Not only are you a great teacher but you’re the only one who I have actually called a friend.

Years of Experience
Professional real world experience in both playing and teaching. I have taught one on one lessons, large groups, ensembles, and small bands. Any chance I get to teach or play music is a blessing.

I began playing in bands when I was 11 years old. I’ve played in churches, theatres, concert halls, weddings, and one high school reunion. I have plenty of experience playing live and want to give my students that same experience too!

And I just keep making them. Feel free to make them with me and we’ll keep learning together.
